Family Bible

A friend recommended the Jesus Storybook Bible as a great read for a family with young children. The deluxe edition has CD's that you can listen to and they really add a lot to the story. I call it a story because it is not the Bible being read aloud. The narrator tells the story of God's plan beginning at creation. The narrator always reminds you of God's greater plan. For example, David was a good shepherd but God will send a greater shepherd.

We have been listening in the car since we have a long ride to swim lessons. I got a copy at the library but will definitely be purchasing our own. I can see us listening to this over and over at different times. Evie has trouble listening quietly so I'm sure that the girls will hear something new each time they listen.

We love this Bible. I haven't heard the CDs yet, but it's a great way to keep the "big picture" in mind in the midst of the smaller stories of the Bible. It's a great morning when we have time to read a story before leaving for school ... they usually ask! :)
